This piece is multi-faceted for me as an artist: a skill-check, an experiment, and inspired by the featured creature with a message from the Father for me. I did a poll on IG after I had painted the background debating two things to place on it–birds or an aurora. The vote produced birds as the majority. I then consulted my editor (a.k.a. my 5-yr-old great niece), and she wanted to see an aurora. After much thought, I realized I could do both!

While deciding which bird to feature, I was shown a picture over two days by the Lord with a species of birds that hang out in the area I wait for my niece’s bus each day. On the first day, a pair of house sparrows flew together and fed near me. The second day, multiple pairs did so. This spoke so strong to me not just about multiplication but just the loving attention of the Father and the verses about the sparrows. This gave me the idea to use their size as a perspective piece, and it all clicked from there. In this vast big world, we are very small but so loved and cared for by our God!
