I like watching ambient outer space videos with my little great niece. In recent days she has gotten more interested in learning about space bodies and the sounds they generate. In one such video they covered nebulae, which we are big fans of, and when the Bubble Nebula appeared I was immediately inspired by its look and sound. It is the galactic embodiment of joy to my mind, and as it has been years since I attempted to paint a nebula I felt it was high time to try again. If you could see my first tries, you would be so shocked (as I am) how far I’ve come as an artist. ONLY GOD!
This piece walks a fine line between reality and imagination, and I highly encourage you to check out the real version online and find the sound clip of it, too! I used color-shifting mica powder for the bubble section.
