For Shannon Walker, founder of Be Still & Glow Design, her journey started with a simple desire to create a prayer room where she could spend intentional time in the Lord’s presence. As she imagined filling the space with the warm glow of candlelight, she searched for faith-based candles that reflected both beauty and biblical encouragement. What she found felt ordinary and generic, leaving her longing for something more meaningful. Rather than settling, Shannon sensed God leading her to create the kind of candles she had been searching for herself. That single idea became the beginning of Be Still & Glow Design, a mother-and-daughter candle business dedicated to creating handcrafted candles that inspire peace, comfort, and faith.
Today, Shannon and her daughter lovingly hand-pour each candle in small batches, combining quality craftsmanship with thoughtful customization. Every candle is designed to be as unique as the person receiving it, giving customers the freedom to choose their vessel, fragrance, color, wax, and wick. Their goal is not simply to create beautiful home décor but to help people experience moments of stillness, joy, and the comforting reminder of God’s light.
A Business Rooted in Faith
Faith is at the heart of everything Shannon creates. What began as a personal desire to build a peaceful prayer space has grown into a ministry that encourages others to slow down and spend time with God. Every candle represents more than a pleasant fragrance or elegant design. It serves as a reminder to pause, reflect, pray, and rest in the presence of the Lord.
The name Be Still & Glow Design beautifully reflects that mission. In a world filled with constant noise and distractions, Shannon hopes her candles encourage people to be still before God and allow His light to fill their hearts and homes. Whether someone is beginning their morning devotional, ending a long day in prayer, or celebrating a special occasion, each candle is intended to create an atmosphere where peace and faith can flourish.
Because every candle is fully customizable, customers are able to create something that reflects their own personality and style. Shannon believes each person is wonderfully made by God, and every candle should celebrate that uniqueness. Embracing a New Season With Purpose
Shannon affectionately describes this chapter of her life as her “Nana Era.” With her children now grown and raising families of their own, she found herself looking for something meaningful to fill her time. Rather than simply finding a hobby, she desired something that would honor God while also allowing her creativity to flourish.
Building Be Still & Glow Design became the perfect opportunity. It not only gave her a faith-centered purpose but also provided a little extra spending money to spoil her beloved grandchildren. More importantly, it reminded her that God continues to call His people into new seasons of purpose regardless of their stage in life.
Her story is a beautiful reminder that God never stops creating new opportunities for those who remain willing to follow His leading. Every season has value, and every chapter can become part of His greater plan.
Trusting God’s Provision
Like many entrepreneurs, Shannon admits she felt nervous about investing money into a business that had no guarantee of success. Stepping into something unfamiliar required faith, especially when there were financial risks involved. Yet through every uncertainty, God proved Himself faithful.
Looking back, Shannon sees God’s hand throughout the entire journey. He provided the original idea, opened the right doors, and brought customers who appreciated the vision behind her business. What once felt like a leap into the unknown became another testimony of God’s provision.
One verse has remained especially close to her heart throughout this journey: John 16:33.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Shannon treasures this verse so deeply that she has it tattooed on her arm as a daily reminder of God’s promises. Whenever challenges arise, it reminds her that she does not have to live in fear because Christ has already overcome the world. His victory gives her confidence to keep moving forward, trusting that He is always in control.
Encouraging Fellow Christian Entrepreneurs
When asked what advice she would offer to other Christian business owners, Shannon’s encouragement reflects the same faith that has guided her own journey.
She encourages entrepreneurs to keep God at the center of every business decision and trust His timing, even when progress seems slow. Growth may not happen as quickly as expected, but faithfulness always matters more than rapid success.
She also reminds fellow business owners not to compare their journey with anyone else’s. God has given each person unique gifts, talents, and a purpose that cannot be duplicated. Success is not about competing with others but about faithfully stewarding what God has entrusted to you.
Shannon believes businesses should reflect Christ through integrity, kindness, excellence, and genuine care for customers. She encourages entrepreneurs to pray over every decision, celebrate even the smallest victories, and remember that obedience is never wasted. Sales may measure business performance, but honoring God measures lasting success.
Lighting the Way for Others
Be Still & Glow Design is much more than a candle company. It is the reflection of one woman’s willingness to follow God’s prompting and create something that brings peace, beauty, and encouragement into the lives of others. Every candle tells a story of faith, creativity, and intentional craftsmanship while pointing people toward the true Light of the world.
As Shannon continues expanding her collection and adding new creations to her Galilee Life shop, her mission remains unchanged. She desires every customer to experience moments of comfort, happiness, and stillness while remembering that God’s light never fades.
Psalm 119:105 declares, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” That truth shines through every candle Shannon pours by hand. Through Be Still & Glow Design, she continues to remind others that when we keep our eyes on Christ, His light faithfully guides every step of our journey.
