A Dream That Started Long Ago

Erica shares that, for as long as she can remember, she has dreamed of having her own business. Her imagination was always filled with ideas and creative possibilities, from crocheting and photography to what she describes as “oodles of doodles.” Even at an early age, she carried a desire to help people who were in need and wanted whatever she created to have one central purpose: to be about Jesus. Through God’s goodness, mercy, and grace, many of those dreams eventually became part of her journey. But Erica also came to realize that there was something more she wanted to do and more she wanted to say. Life situations and circumstances can change the direction we imagine for ourselves, and for Erica, those experiences became part of the story that led to Gatherene. Rather than seeing her journey as a perfectly smooth path, she looks back and recognizes God’s presence throughout it all.

A Mustard Seed of Faith

Faith is at the heart of Erica’s story. She describes having “mustard seed, maybe smaller and sometimes crazy believing faith,” yet she has continually been reminded that God has been with her. Erica is honest about the fact that life has not always been smooth, pretty, or easy. There have been moments when she has felt down and defeated, but she says the Holy Spirit reminds her of all that God has done and everything He has brought her through. Those reminders lead her back to gratitude and praise. Her story is not about pretending that difficulties do not happen. Instead, it is about looking back through the difficult moments and recognizing the love and faithfulness of God. Erica encourages others to continue praying, reading or listening to the Bible, and giving God the glory, trusting that He is still working even when the journey does not look the way they expected.
