Grits + Grace Mercantile & Co., founded by Malia N Lancaster, is a faith-driven boutique that beautifully combines Southern charm, a cowgirl lifestyle, and a deep devotion to Christ. What started in late 2021 as a small western t-shirt and tumbler boutique has grown into a business that intentionally glorifies God in every product. Malia’s early days were full of hustle and heart: she would literally make or sell anything for a buck, serving customers with creativity and dedication. Yet, even in those early years, God was shaping a bigger purpose for her business.

In 2023, Malia went through a season of heartbreak—a time that drew her closer to Jesus and deepened her faith. Like many of us in trials, she initially wanted God to “fix it” and make her life easier. But through this difficult season, she realized that trials aren’t just obstacles; they are opportunities to grow closer to God and strengthen our faith (James 1:2-4). This period of waiting and reflection transformed Malia personally and spiritually. Though she had been saved at age eight, she discovered the depth of a literal, personal, and complete relationship with Jesus—a revelation that forever changed her perspective and her purpose.

By January 1, 2025, Malia felt called to fully rebrand her boutique. Twisted Feather became Grits + Grace Mercantile & Co., a name that reflects her Southern roots, her cowgirl lifestyle, and her unwavering commitment to honoring Christ in every creation. With this new direction, Malia made a bold choice: she would only accept orders and create products that align with God’s will. Gone are the days of compromising for sales—she no longer worries about turning down requests that don’t reflect her values. Every item now serves a higher purpose: to uplift Christ and encourage faith in those who experience her work.
