Alaskan Inspiration: Have you been fortunate enough to spot
the elusive White Raven in Anchorage?

This raven has a condition called leucism, which is a gene
mutation causing a loss of pigmentation, and clear blue eyes. Such a dramatic difference from our black
ravens with black eyes.

This White Raven arrived during the Fall of 2023, and it
immediately grew a huge following.
Photographers, both professional and not, were chasing the bird all over
town. A Facebook group popped up to help
people locate him. Word of mouth was
also helpful. It seemed everyone was
talking about the White Raven!

It’s possible that this bird was hatched on the Kenai
Peninsula as it was spotted during the summer in Soldotna close to where a
White Raven hatched last year!

Will the White Raven return this October?

Alaskan Inspiration:
I decided to use White Howlite beads to represent the white body of the
White Raven. The Blue Apatite represents
the beautiful clear blue eyes of the White Raven. The Gray Druzy and Stainless Steel Filagree
bead all representing the large gray head of the White Raven.
